President Lazarus Chakwera has challenged the newly sworn High Court judges to uphold the values cast in the Rule of Law and render justice swiftly, fairly and transparently.
He spoke this at the Kamuzu Palace in Lilongwe when he presided over the the swearing-in ceremony of the four judges namely, Howard Brighton Pemba, Allan Hans Muhome, Etness Chanza and Eddah Edayi Ngwira.
He appointed the four on October 24. Again, in March this year, the president appointed seven new High Court judges.
“My administration remains committed to advancing the cause of justice through capacity building of our Judiciary in collaboration with key judicial stakeholders,” says the president.
Chakwera, who became president in 2020 following court-sanctioned elections, appointed 12 High court Judges and four Supreme Court of Appeal judges in October, the same year.
