Thyolo East Legislator Masauko White has on Sunday launched a two million kwacha football bonanza with 16 teams set to compete.

White said he wants to keep the youth busy, at the same time attempt to promote football talent at grassroot level.

Malawi’s former captain, Joseph Kamwendo, who graced the bonanza launch, said this should be emulated by other influential and capable individuals, and not only politicians.

“I have seen promising talent in this inaugural game between Luchenza Select and Gunda Select and as a coach, I can assure you that it will not take long for some players to start playing in the country’s top league,” said Kamwendo.
