President Chakwera on Saturday morning attended prayers as part of Eid celebration in Lilongwe marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan The gesture has won him praise from some Muslim leaders.
The national chairman for Qadria Muslim Association of Malawi Sheikh Jafar Kawinga turned the Eid ul fitr celebration to political celebration and castigated other fellow Muslim scholars for speaking the truth on his speech as chairman of Qadria Muslim association of Malawi
The prayers were held under the theme “A Better Malawi and Quick Recovery for Victims of Cyclone Freddy”
Sheikh Kawinga speaking in Lilongwe during Eid al-Fitr prayers marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan insulted fellow Muslims as mad people against the objectives of Eid ul fitr celebrations which appeals Muslims to share love and peace not sharing castigation and insults amongst Muslims and others denominations.
Sheikh Jafaar Kawinga knows nothing about islamic teachings rather than castigating their fellow Muslims for standing for the truth , what ever Kawinga spoke at Eid ul fitr celebrations prayers is for himself but not for Muslims, Kawinga is not standing for Muslims he is representing himself and his family to fill his stomach and may Allah forgive him, said one of Muslims attended the Eid ul fitr celebrations prayers,
Kawinga spoke those insults to buy favours from president Dr Lazarus Chakwera to fill his stomach not for Muslims,
Making on a comment on his attendance to the prayers today , President Chakwera wrote on his Facebook page that” Together with the First Lady, we were honoured to join our muslim brothers and sisters at this year’s Eid Ul-Fitr prayers at Muslim Sports Club Ground in Lilongwe.”
The President went further to say “The core messages of today’s event dwelt on the key lessons drawn from the month of Ramadan namely; reverence to Allah, compassion for humanity, forgiveness and hard work.
