On the sidelines of the Transform Africa Summit, President Dr Lazarus Chakwera held a meeting with President Hakainde Hichilema of the Republic of Zambia.

The meeting centred on diplomatic data corridors.

The two leaders agreed to continue discussions to cement the agreement and collaboration among others by having Malawi’s Escom and Zambia’s ZESCO continue negotiations around the use of existing energy infrastructure in both countries.

The diplomatic data corridor will facilitate the rolling out of affordable data for Malawians.

The arrangement will include Malawi, Zambia, Mozambique and Rwanda.
