Robert Lewandowski explains why it’s ‘easier’ for him to score goals for Barcelona under Hansi Flick

The striker took home the match ball against Alaves

Robert Lewandowski spoke about his goalscoring form after bagging a hat-trick for Barcelona against Alaves in La Liga on Sunday.

The Barcelona striker now has 12 goals in just 11 appearances this season in all competitions and says he’s getting a better supply line from his team-mates.

“I get good passes, so it’s easier to score goals. We played very well from the start, with a very offensive approach. If you score three in the first half, you can then play in the second half with more control,” he told the media after the game.

“We’ve worked very well in pre-season. We have a very good group. With these players we can play better and everything we were missing before we have improved. It’s football. You have to play at 100%, no matter who you play against.”

Lewandowski also spoke about the difficulties of Barca’s current hectic schedule but how he hopes his team will be stronger after the international break with injured players set to return.

“We play every three days and I’ve never played five games in my life with only two days between each game,” he added.

“I hope that the injured players will return to the team after the break and that we will be stronger after the break.”

Barcelona’s next game is against Sevilla at Montjuic on Sunday, October 20.
