By Comrade jumbe
Fellow Malawians,
Let’s remember that What is done in the dark will always come to light.”
As we approach the 2025 elections, it’s time to shine a light on the troubling tactics of some politicians.
Once again, the poor are being treated as pawns in a dirty game of power, bribed with small amounts of money or even with one small bag of fertilizer which can’t suffice. This isn’t generosity—it’s exploitation.
Every election cycle, we see the same drama.
Politicians, absent for years, suddenly emerge with a camera crew in tow, handing out crumbs to the poor and expecting applause.
They pose for pictures, smiling as though they’ve solved poverty, when in reality, they’re mocking it.
“Actions speak louder than words,” yet their actions scream deception.
These handouts, while orchestrated to appear generous, are nothing but an insult.
How can someone waste millions of taxpayers’ money on official trip just staging events to distribute a single bag of fertilizer, as if they were personally cultivating every field?
These theatrics and drammatising poverty while people are in pain of poverty are a slap in the face of the poor and us struggling Malawians.
Where were these leaders for the last five years?
Why now? The answer is obvious: they need votes.
And they’re willing to exploit the poor to get them.
Stop Exploiting the Poor
Our people don’t need handouts; they need opportunities.
“Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day; teach him to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.” This is the wisdom we must embrace. Instead of throwing scraps kugenda osauka ndi tinyenyeswa togwa pa table yanu abwana this is inhuman and must not have a place in any society.people need;
Business capital to start and start enterprises.
Skills training to enable self-reliance.
Opportunities to secure contracts and tenders
The sad reality is that these handouts are designed to keep the poor dependent and voiceless.
When politicians offer you a few coins, they’re not helping you—they’re buying your silence for the next five years. And when you accept, you trade your voice, your future, and the future of your children for a fleeting moment of relief.

To the Politicians: Leadership Is a Responsibility
“The higher the monkey climbs, the more he exposes himself.”
Politicians, your actions will not go unnoticed. History will remember those who uplifted their people, not those who exploited them for votes.
True leadership is about creating a system that works for everyone. It’s about:
Building schools and hospitals that empower communities.
Investing in infrastructure that creates jobs.
Creating policies that uplift, not degrade.
Creating genuine bussiness opportunities for the people not based on who knows who.
When you bribe the poor, you’re not just breaking the law—you’re breaking the very foundation of our democracy.
It’s time to rise above this immoral tendency and focus on building a nation where everyone has a chance to thrive.
To you my fellow malawians: Don’t Sell Your Future
Don’t let your vote be the price of a few coins or a bag of maize,Ngati mukulandira chimanga chaulere ndi chaboma chimenecho musazagulitse vote yanu mukatero muzagulitsa tsogolo la anu ndi ana awo pa mtengo wa chimanga chanu chomwe.osagulitsa dziko lanu chifukwa cha 2000 kwacha.
That money will vanish in a day, but the consequences of bad leadership will last for years.
Think about the promises they’ve made before. Anakulonjezani kudya katatu pa tsiku lero mukugona mpaka matsiku atatu musakudya kugonela mango is this the malawi we want?
Have they kept them their promises ?
Have they built the schools, hospitals, and roads they spoke about?
Or are they here again, with empty hands and hollow words, asking for your trust?
Stand firm and say:
“We need business opportunities, not handouts.”
“We need policies, not promises.”
“We need leaders who serve, not exploit.”
As 2025 approaches, let us judge our leaders by their actions, not their words.
Let us demand accountability, integrity, and vision.
To the politicians: stop mocking the poor. To the people: stop selling your future.
Together, let us build a nation where leadership is about service, not exploitation; where dignity is upheld, not mocked.
The time for crumbs is over. The time for true leadership is now.
