President of Chilungamo Party Comrade Alhaji Imraan Jumbe, has described the resignation of Labour Minister in the Chakwera’s MCP government Agnes Nyalonje, as a “candle in the darkness” shining light on a government that has lost its way.
Nyalonje who is Mzimba North constituency legislator submitted her resignation letter to President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera in July, 2024 traumatized with the tragic death of Dr. Saulosi Chilima whose death has left millions of questions than answers in the eyes of Malawians.
The Investor Magazine has given reasons for Nyalonje’s quitting the MCP government of President Chakwera citing the tragic death of Chilima, rampant corruption which has gone unchecked for 4 years of Chakwera’s government and the Israel Labour Export deal which MCP officials are demanding inclusion of their relatives.
Writing on his face book page, Comrade Jumbe says the resignation of Nyalonje from the MCP government is a courageous step in a regime riddled with failures for one who once worked with the late Dr. Chilima in UTM reflecting her alignment with the principles of integrity and accountability.
Jumbe says Nyalonje’s resignation is signaling that the reckoning for the MCP is near, advising Malawians to applaud her bravery for “He who stands for the truth, stands forever saying the people’s anger for solidarity of Chilima’s plane crash will be loudest at the ballot in September,2025.
He says in contrast, Vice President of the Republic of Malawi Dr. Michael Usi’s decision to remain in the MCP government that has failed to explain the tragic plane crash that claimed the lives of Dr. Chilima and eight others, in the Chikangawa forest, is raising eyebrows.
“Dr. Usi has become the man of two faces but he should know that not all that glitters is gold, and political loyalty at the expense of truth often leads to a short-lived career,” reads Comrade Jumbe’s writing on the wall.
Meanwhile, a Malawi Congress Party (MCP) diehard of Mvera in Dowa district Mr. Rodgers Kamphangala, has advised MCP shadow parliamentarians to brace themselves for more troubles in their campaign trails as other people will be chanting Chikangawa songs in their rallies.
Kamphangala said it is sad that no incumbent MCP parliamentarian rose up in Parliament condemning the MCP for covering the truth in the plane crash that led to the death of Dr. Chilima and eight others, saying no matter how long it will take, the truth shall prevail.
He said for joining the choruses of quietness, all MCP incumbent parliamentarians are being labelled by Malawians as the ones behind the tragic death of Dr. Chilima and eight others, expressing fears that some of their rallies they will be conducting they will be ending in tears.
