The Commission of Inquiry into the plane crash that claimed the life of Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima has dismissed claims suggesting the presence of gunshot wounds on his body. Dr. Ben Chilima, a representative of the late Vice President’s family, informed the commission that there was no evidence to support such allegations.
Dr. Ben Chilima further revealed that the family had been granted permission by the pathologist to view the body. This allowed them to personally verify that no gunshot wounds were present on the late Vice President’s remains.
“The pathologist allowed the family to confirm the condition of the body, and there was no indication of gunshot wounds,” the commission reported, emphasizing transparency in the investigative process.
This statement addresses circulating rumors that had raised suspicions about the true circumstances of the crash and Dr. Chilima’s death. The commission continues to urge the public to rely on verified information as it works to finalize its findings.
The report from the Commission of Inquiry, chaired by Justice Jabbar Alide, is expected to provide detailed insights into the tragic crash, bringing clarity and closure to a nation in mourning.
