Mudi Savings and Credit Cooperative (Sacco) capped off its successful Chuma Chiri M’nthaka Promotion with a grand finale during its annual gala dinner in Blantyre last night. The event featured the final draw, which saw members walking away with life-changing prizes aimed at boosting their agricultural potential.
The highlight of the evening was Patrick Haluve John winning the grand prize—a solar-powered irrigation pump. The second prize of 16 bags of fertilizer went to Friday Navaya, while Chifuniro Maloya took home the third prize: 10 bags of maize, three bags of rice, and three bags of beans.
Additionally, consolation prizes of smartphones were awarded to Tatiana Brown and Victory Linje.
The Chuma Chiri M’nthaka Promotion, launched on June 1, 2024, aimed to encourage members to explore and expand their potential in irrigation agriculture. Monthly giveaways during the promotion included smartphones, solar-powered torches, branded T-shirts, and caps.
To participate, members had to make a fixed deposit of at least K100,000 or save a minimum of K50,000 in a youth savings account during the promotion period.
The promotion follows last year’s Chaka Chokolola Promotion, which offered a grand prize of a trip to Dubai for two.
During the gala dinner, Mudi Sacco also celebrated its top-performing staff, recognizing their contributions to the organization’s success.
The annual gala dinner showcased not only the cooperative’s commitment to empowering its members but also its dedication to rewarding and motivating both members and staff.
