The tragedy that claimed the lives of the vice president and eight others is a wound that still bleeds in the hearts of many of us Malawians.
In moments of such profound loss, the nation turns to its leaders, not only for comfort but for answers.
The question that always echoes across the country is clear and resolute: Where is the black box?
The silence by the commission of enquiry surrounding this critical piece of evidence is as chilling as the tragedy itself.
As the old saying goes, “What is hidden will one day come to light.” The black box is not merely a device; it holds the truth that every Malawian deserves to know.
To suggest that the military plane that crushed lacked this essential tool is to insult the intelligence of an entire nation.
It is akin to telling a child that the moon is made of cheese.
It is said, “A fish rots from the head down.” Leadership bears the ultimate responsibility for ensuring the safety and well-being of its people.
Allowing the vice president and eight others to board a plane allegedly without a black box is a grave failure, one that raises questions of negligence, or worse, intent.
This is not just a matter of aviation protocol; it is a matter of justice. “What is done cannot be undone,” but accountability must follow. Without it, the trust between the people and their leaders will continue to erode, leaving a nation adrift.
The People’s Voice
Malawians are not blind, nor are they deaf. The people have spoken, and their demand is simple: truth. “A lie has no legs,” and the narrative that the plane lacked a black box is one that will not stand.
To ignore the call for answers is to pour salt into an open wound.
As the proverb goes, “Empty vessels make the most noise.” The commission of inquiry should have moved beyond silence or vague excuses and provide clarity.
Their role is not to shield the powerful or shielding criminality but to serve the people. Transparency is not optional; it is the backbone of democracy.
A Matter of Justice
The loss of a vice president is no small matter; it shall always shake the very foundation of governance of the malawi congress party led government .
The black box holds the key to understanding what truly happened that day. “Justice delayed is justice denied,” and every moment without answers deepens the pain of a grieving nation.
To claim that there was no black box in that plane is to dismiss the intelligence and dignity of Malawians.
As the saying goes, “You can fool some of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time.” The truth will emerge, and those responsible will be held to account.
Malawi must demand answers, not through anger or division, but through unity and persistence. “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” The vision for Malawi must be one of justice, accountability, and respect for the rule of law.
