Silver Strikers FC has officially announced the appointment of club legend Peter Mgangira as the Acting Head Coach following the departure of Sir Peter Mponda. Mponda, who had been at the helm of the team for 11 months, stepped down due to personal reasons, and Mgangira, previously the assistant coach, has now been entrusted with the responsibility of leading the team in the interim.

Mgangira’s new role comes with a monthly salary of 5 million Kwacha, along with additional benefits such as a car, free fuel, and a house allowance. His appointment is seen as a strategic move by the club as they continue their search for a permanent head coach.

Notably, Sir Peter Mponda personally recommended Mgangira for the caretaker position before his departure, highlighting the trust and confidence he has in his assistant. Mgangira, a Silver Strikers legend, brings with him a wealth of experience from his time working under various distinguished coaches, including Peiter Deghong, Mtetemera, Kabwe, Yobe, and most recently, Peter Mponda.

Mgangira’s extensive coaching experience and intimate knowledge of the team’s dynamics are expected to be valuable assets as he takes charge of the club. As the team adjusts to this change in leadership, further updates on the club’s progress and future coaching decisions will be provided as they become available.

Fans and stakeholders alike are eager to see how Mgangira will steer the team during this interim period and what strategies he will implement to maintain the club’s competitive edge in the upcoming season.
