Not even one from Ntchisi has made it into Chakwera’s 31- .lean member cabinet

A Malawi Congress Party (MCP) diehard of Mvera in Dowa district Mr. Rodgers Kamphanagala, has accused President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera of favoring Lilongwe for Ministerial positions claiming that this is dividing the party.
Kamphangala said he has noted with a great concern reading from a list of appointed ministers by President Chakwera that there’s not even one from Ntchisi observing that from Chakwera’s first cabinet in 2020 Ntchisi has no potential individual to be appointed into Chakwera’s cabinet.
He has asked President Chakwera to explain to all members of the MCP on why he is favoring those from Lilongwe forming the largest composition of his cabinet and the criteria used to identify and appointing them into his Cabinet.
The MCP diehard has observed that President Chakwera has maintained failed Ministers into his cabinet for the reasons that can be best explained by himself the names like Dr. Kenneth Zikhale Ng’oma, Moses Kunkuyu, Sam Kawale, Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda, and many others.
He said many Malawians were expecting that those ministers that have failed would be removed for new faces but this has not happened in the eyes of President Chakwera saying Ntchisi parliamentarians have now turned into a laughing stock for no space in Chakwera’s cabinet.
Kamphangala said a good leader must be loved by his tribesmen and women saying this is not the same with President Chakwera whose tribe-the Chewas have turned away from him giving an example of the people of Kasiya-Malembo in Lilongwe who booed him on 2nd December, 2024 for not listening to their cries.
He said since 2020 Ntchisi has produced no minister or Deputy minister asking President Chakwera that out of all central region districts believed to be the bedroom of the MCP, why he has turned his mind taking Ntchisi out of the region.
The MCP diehard has advised Malawians that the cabinet reshuffle was made to appease some individuals as rewards for praising him as a development conscious President and also supporting them in their campaign trails and Malawians should not expect anything good from them.
“31-member cabinet coming at a time the country has no fuel, medicines in hospitals, prices of maize and other basic needs skyrocketed, are you serious, Mr. President? Questioned Kamphangala.
He has assured President Chakwera that what Isaiah Emmanuel Sunganimoyo said that three-quarters of MCP NEC do not want President Chakwera to lead the MCP at the forthcoming elections in September, 2025 is totally right.
Kamphangala has advised President Chakwera to bless for more divisions in the party ahead of the 16th September, 2025 saying some shadow MPs in the central region will be campaigning without mentioning Chakwera to be voted for under the MCP flag.
