President of Chilungamo Party Comrade Alhaji Imraan Jumbe says the soul of the nation is hanging in the balance saying the 16th September, 2025 General Elections, a cornerstone of the country’s democracy is already under threat.
Comrade Jumbe has urged citizens who are passionate with the country and hold justice sacred not to turn a blind eye to the glaring injustices before them warning Malawians that allowing these issues to persist unchecked, history will remember them as the generation that allowed the country’s democracy to be stolen in plain sight.
Writing on his face book page, Comrade Jumbe has questioned Malawians how they are trusting the guardians of their electoral process Mec and NRB when their independence is under siege saying Mec Chairperson Justice Annabel Mtalimanja, Chief Elections Officer Andrew Mpesi and NRB boss Mphatso Sambo are all MCP affiliated officers?
Jumbe says when institutions responsible for delivering democracy are compromised, the elections themselves are nothing more than a charade- elections rigged before they begin demanding an immediate reshuffling of Mec leadership, and replacing compromised individuals with neutral- credible professionals.
He says with voter registration already in progress, the biases and conflicts of interest in Mec and NRB make it impossible to trust the process demanding a complete halt to the current voter registration process, and restarting it under transparent oversight.
The President has warned the authorities that if their demands are not met, they will call upon all opposition parties, all candidates of integrity, and all citizens with a love for justice to boycott the September, 2025 elections –to participate in a rigged process is to legitimize corruption.
“This is not just an election, it is a battle for the very heart of Malawi’s democracy-evil triumphs when good people do nothing,” reads Jumbe’s writing on the wall.
Comrade Jumbe says Malawians cannot wait for another generation to fight the battles they must fight today urging them not to be silent while their democracy is strangled in broad daylight but to act decisively with unity and resolve.
He has finally advised Malawians that the time for action is now, they must speak up, stand firm, demand justice saying Malawi deserves nothing less, this is not just a call to action but it is a cry for the survival of the country’s democracy.
