Director of Youth in the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Norman Paulosi Chisale, has asked the Malawi Police Service (MPS) to arrest a police officer who shot on the arm of DPP Deputy National Director for Women Mrs. Brenda Saidi at Area 3 police Station in Lilongwe where he went to offer her support to DPP Vice President for the Centre Alfred Gangata who was in the hands of police.

Chisale said it is obvious that just as the previous incidents which the thugs were left free for being part of government, they will not arrest the police officer assuring the people that on the 17th September, 2025 the laws of Malawi will arrest that police officer.

He said Malawi is for all regardless of party affiliations, tribe, region and religion saying politics of intimidations has no place in the modern Malawi advising DPP youth not to revenge of what MCP is doing to them but time is coming to act.

Speaking after he and DPP Vice President for the Centre Alfred Gangata visited and cheered Mrs. Brenda Saidi on Monday, Chisale said he expects the police to arrest one of their own for breaking the law shooting an innocent woman with a live bullet.

Chisale, flanked by his party’s Lieutenants assured DPP members that he knows the identity of the police officer who shot Brenda Saidi on the arm with a live bullet advising police officers to work professionally and to act within their mandate.

He has appealed to the police that whenever he is wanted by them or the court they should send a Warrant of Arrest assuring them that he will come either at the police station or the court for prosecution other than sending the attackers hiding in the name of the police to arrest him.

The Youth Director said he was attacked at the Shoprite in Blantyre by a group of thugs who wanted to arrest him without a Warrant of Arrest assuring the police that no Warrant of Arrest, he cannot hand himself to them but resisting the arrest.

“Whoever is coming to arrest me, he should bring with him a Warrant of Arrest and without that they should be prepared that I will die in the hands of the attackers,” said Chisale.

DPP Vice President for the Centre Alfred Gangata after the Magistrate court in Lilongwe granted him bail on Monday, he drove straight to Kamuzu Central Hospital to visit and cheer Mrs. Brenda Saidi. who is on a hospital bed battling for her life nursing a live bullet wound.
