Kalindo reminds Police Officers no one is above the law

By Vincent Gunde

Political activist Bon Kalindo, has reminded police officers to discharge their duties professionally warning officers that are working as MCP Police that no one is above the law, the same law they are breaking today, will arrest them after 16th September, 2025.

Kalindo has expressed his grave concern over the arrest of Karonga based rights activist Lytone Mangochi saying he was arrested while a sleep on his bed and his pajamas to Kaporo Police Unit where officers from Area 30 in Lilongwe fooled the people that they are taking him to Mzuzu Police Station but their journey was back to Lilongwe.

He has questioned the MCP Police the motive behind arresting an offender like Lyton Mangochi driving all the way from Karonga to Lilongwe as if in Karonga and Mzuzu there are no courts to prosecute him saying court Judges have been against this act but there is no change to this day.

Speaking through an audio clip, Kalindo has claimed that if those police officers who travelled to Karonga to arrest Lytone Mangochi were professionals, they would have gone with a Warrant of Arrest claiming that Mangochi was arrested by MCP Police.

Kalindo said the whole essence of arresting rights activists in the country is to silence them so that they join in the praising team supporting President Chakwera and the MCP in a quest to bounce back into government on 16th September, 2025.

He said in a country where citizens are struggling to meet daily food, skyrocketing prices of essential goods, no fuel, no medicines in hospitals, police officers filling their Land Cruiser vehicle full tank with petrol to travel to Karonga and back in Lilongwe only to arrest Lytone Mangochi describing this as shame to President Chakwera and the MCP.

The activist has noted with a great concern that instead of focusing on the September, 2025 elections and addressing real issues affecting Malawians in their daily life situations, the MCP is busy arresting and killing innocent people like Lytone Mangochi whose only sin is standing with the people against MCP oppression.

“Let me assure Area 30 police that I am ready for you, it is high time you arrested me and time has now come for you to take me, please take me to Karonga from Lilongwe,” said Kalindo.

He has finally lamented that the MCP has killed ADMARC observing that its roles have been taken over by the National Economic Empowerment Fund (NEEF) distributing bags of fertilizers in the name of mega farms to MCP people without gardens who are ending up selling the commodity to buyers.
