Lungu given ultimatum: buy out contract or see out term

Nyasa Big Bullets have given want-away defender Alick Lungu two options to resolve his contractual impasse with the club. According to acting CEO Albert Chigoga, Lungu can either buy out his contract or inform the club of any interested parties, who can then engage with Bullets to negotiate a transfer.

Chigoga emphasized that if neither option is pursued, Lungu will be required to return to the club and fulfill his contractual obligations until his contract expires in July. This development comes after Lungu’s request to be released from his contract for free was rejected by the club.

Coach Peter Mponda justified his decision to send Lungu back from training, citing concerns about the player’s state of mind. Mponda believes that Lungu is “torn between two worlds” and cannot concentrate on his football until his future with the club is resolved.

Lungu has been linked with a move to a top Zimbabwean club, but neither the player nor his agent could be reached for comment. The situation remains unresolved, leaving Lungu’s future with Nyasa Big Bullets hanging in the balance.
