There are reports that leaders of the Concerned Civil Servants who organized the foiled peaceful demonstrations by MCP thugs leading to some of the demonstrators being hacked, are facing threats and immediate transfers from their duty stations.
The reports are indicating that the whole committee of 13 members has entered into the MCP led government punishment book with transfers to all the regions across the country in a move that can best be described as a lesson for leading demonstrations against the MCP.
Many civil servants have described these threats and transfers as aiming at silencing the members from organizing future protests against government 20 percent salary hike for 44 to 50 percent in line with the local currency devaluations.
Mrs. Lorena Kadammanja, a secondary school teacher of Lilongwe East has described these threats and transfers as not in line with the country’s democratic principles observing that civil servants are human beings that need to voice out their concerns just like all other concerned groups in Malawi.
Kadammanja said the hacking of civil servants on Wednesday,19th March, 2025 will be remembered in the country’s history that a ruling party in government sponsored its armed men to hack civil servants to block them from presenting their petition to Parliament.
She said President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera being the head of the civil service must feel ashamed of the image his MCP government is doing against his own civil servants speaking for itself that the MCP is digging its own grave on the 16th September, 2025 elections.
“Shame to President Chakwera for sending his thugs to hack civil servants that in no way, can organize violent demonstrations against their own government of the day,” said Kadammanja.
A concerned civil servant writing in an open letter to President Chakwera has asked him how hefeel when he hears that his people are being hacked to death and how does he sleep at night knowing that the Police meant to serve and protect, are instead protecting killers and oppressors, where is his conscience and humanity?
A Concerned civil servant has asked for President Chakwera’s promised HI-5 and servant leadership, rule of law and securing Malawi for all questioning him that is this the Malawi for all? saying it is sad and shameful that the very same people who vowed to protect are presiding over a nation where blood is spilled in a broad day light with the perpetrators walking free.
She has reminded the MCP and President Chakwera that power is never permanent saying the same evil civil servants they are neglecting today, the same youth they have disappoint, and the same citizens they are failing to protect, will be the ones to decide their fate tomorrow.
The citizen has warned President Chakwera that if these atrocities do not cease, his reign over Malawi will come to an end sooner than he expects saying the MCP is destroying its own image, and history will not be kind to those who betray the trust of their people.
“We were told that we had a God –fearing leader, a man who would restore dignity to governance, a man who would listen to the cries of his people,” reads part of the concerned citizen’s writings on the wall.
She said today, it is heartbreaking to see that the very leader is proving to be more dangerous than any Malawians have seen before claiming that meagre salary increments for civil servants, is an insult rather than a solution, they are being hacked, attacked and left to
