Removing the current administration is the solution, claims Muluzi

United Democratic Front (UDF) president Atupele Muluzi has said if Malawians want to move from the crisis they are going through, they must vote out the current administration.

He made the remarks at Mchesi Market in Lilongwe recently during an interface with different business owners.

Muluzi cautioned that if Malawians will just sit and watch as if everything is well, the more tough times awaits them for the next five years.

“As I speak now, things are not good at all. What is happening in the country is total disorder which we have never experienced before as a country. Things have come out of hand.

“If we are not going to vote out this government, things will get worse than this. The solution to these challenges we are facing is to kick out this regime through our votes on September 16 2025,” he said.

Muluzi who served as a lawmaker for Machinga North East Constituency between 2004 and 2019, assured the business owners at the market in particular and Malawi in general that he was ready to fight for Malawians “so that things change for the betterment of the country”.

He further said the problems Malawians are going through are a result of poor leadership.

“Malawi is not poor. What is happening in this country is not on. Leaders are mismanaging taxpayers money for personal interests at the expense of poor Malawians,” he said.

Muluzi, son to former president of Malawi, Bakili, contested for presidency in 2014 and 2019 before being picked by former and fifth president of Malawi, Arthur Peter Mutharika as his running mate during the June 20, 2020 fresh presidential election.

He has served in a number of cabinet positions between 2012 and 2019.

During last year’s UDF national conference, the young Muluzi went unopposed as president of UDF he will be the party’s presidential torch bearer during the September 16, 2025.
