Kalindo thanks Mzuzu court for standing with Kasasire people

By Vincent Gunde

Political activist Bon Kalindo has thanked the court in Mzuzu for standing with the people of Kasasire in Nkhatabay North who were being taken useless in the eyes of President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and MDF Commander General Dr. Paul Velentino Phiri.

Kalindo said MDF soldiers invaded the land following orders from above to confiscate Kasasire land as belonging to MDF, the people there were beaten up at nobody’s care, there houses demolished, they cried aloud, but the MCP government did not listen to their cries.

He said some community leaders were arrested and imprisoned at Mzuzu Prison for protesting bitterly that the land belongs to their ancestors but to their dismay, the Ministry of Lands stood on the side of the MDF that the land belongs to the soldiers.

Speaking through an audio clip, Kalindo said God has shown Himself his greatness by putting to shame President Chakwera, MDF Commander and chiefs of Nkhatabay and Mzimba districts who instead of siding and defending their people, they stood on the side of the government for their people to be treated as slaves in their own country.

Kalindo said the court in Mzuzu has found the people of Kasasire with no case to answer and has acquitted those who were imprisoned at Mzuzu prison and their case has been washed away describing this as a victory day for the people of Kasasire in the eyes of God.

He said the court in Mzuzu has ordered people of Kasasire to assess the damage caused by MDF soldiers and this include houses destroyed, domesticated animals, agricultural produce, for government to compensate them.

The political activist said 182 children of Kasasire were not going to school since the first term of the 2024-2025 academic session saying the environment in which these children were living together with their parents were not conducive and above all, traumatized.

“Thanks should go to the court for defending and liberating Kasasire people from the hands of MCP witches who don’t care about the sufferings of others,” said Kalindo.
He has thanked a Malawian citizen based in the United States of America (USA) JB and his team for mobilizing resources to go a long way to support the people of Kasasire and the Livingstonia CCAP Synod for providing a place to accommodate these displaced Kasasire people.

Kalindo has also accused the media of not doing enough writing stories of the Kasasire people and instead they were choosing other stories which are for public interest forgetting that some Malawians have no permanent homes with thanks to the MDF for beating them and destroying their property.

He has finally appealed to well-wishers and lawyers to come to the knees of the Kasasire people for a speedy process that their case should go to the High court of Malawi to determine the right ownership of the land in question.
