An online Television station, Bakili Muluzi TV has alleged that the Malawi Defense Force (MDF) has lost its mandate under General Dr. Dr. Paul Velentino Phiri and is being seen on the side of protecting President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera, MCP and Malawi Electoral Commission (Mec).
BMTV said brutal activities of MCP youth operatives masking their faces terrorizing and hacking innocent people with MDF soldiers watching without taking action against them, is speaking for itself that MDF is not for the people but politicians of the MCP.
The Station said this is the first time in the history of the country to see the MDF siding with a political party in government and no wonder, Malawi Defense Force (MDF) soldiers are not highly respected as they were in the previous government because of their involvement in MCP politics.
BMTV has claimed that for the first time in the history of the country, MDF and Malawi Police Service issued a joint statement that they will deal with anyone inciting violence in the country ahead of the 16th September, 2025 elections.
He said as this was not enough, MDF Commander was quoted in the media having said the MDF will make sure that there is peace, law and order before, during and after elections wondering why coming today.
BMTV said MDF Commander left Dr. Saulosi Chilima in the cold the whole night in the bush, suspending the search mission to return the following day morning while the claimed plane crashed 8 Kilometers away from the main road.
He said if Malawi had the Army General by today, all those suspected to have taken a hand in the killing of Dr. Saulosi Chilima and eight others, would have by now been in prison but this has not happened to the dismay of the country’s citizens.
BMTV has further said if Malawi had MDF, they would have joined the citizens in their calls to Mec Chairperson Justice Annabel Mtalimanja to let independent auditors investigate their Smartmatic machines but unfortunately, they are quiet and become a laughing stock by all Malawians.
He has reminded General Velentino Phiri that the position he is holding in the Army today, was once occupied by others yesterday and left a legacy that during their time, the Army demonstrated neutrality not involving themselves in party politics.
“General Manken Chigawa in 1993 sent his soldiers to disarm the notorious armed wing of the MCP, Malawi Young Pioneers (MYP) in the “operation Bwenzani zida,” if General Vincent Nundwe was still Army Commander, he would not have allowed the nonsense of the MCP terrorizing and hacking innocent Malawians to be taking place.,” said Bakili Muluzi TV.
He has assured the MDF and Malawi Police that Malawians are all aware of their plans and they will not fear them in a quest to liberate their country from the hands of the destroyers that never again shall Malawi become a one-party state and dictarrship.
