Mangochi Businessman Wins K8.755 Million in Azam TV Grand Raffle Draw

A Mangochi-based businessman, Wilfred Nyirenda, has emerged K8.755 million richer after being announced the grand prize winner in the Azam TV raffle draw.

The competition, organized by one of Malawi’s leading digital satellite television providers, Azam TV, ran between November 2024 and January 2025 as a way of showing appreciation to its loyal customers.

Nyirenda was officially unveiled as the winner during a prize presentation ceremony held on Saturday at Azam TV’s head office in Blantyre.

Reacting to the exciting development, Nyirenda expressed immense gratitude and joy, saying the prize money will go a long way in transforming his business.

“I am very happy to have won the money. I will actually use it to boost my business,” said the jubilant businessman.

He further praised Azam TV for organizing such a rewarding initiative and called on the company to continue reaching out and empowering more people through similar competitions.

“I appreciate what Azam has done and I wish they could do more to help others as well,” he added.

On the company’s side, Azam TV’s General Manager, Syed Kadarsha, expressed satisfaction with the strong response the raffle received from their subscriber base.

“The campaign has been very helpful since we have managed to increase customer base and we have cemented our relationship with customers,” he said.

According to Kadarsha, a total of 3,946 subscribers took part in the competition during the three-month period.

He also disclosed that apart from the grand prize, the promotion produced 152 winners who walked away with various attractive prizes.

Some of the items won by other participants included refrigerators, smart TV screens, motorbikes, and cash, among others.

The entry requirement for the competition was straightforward: customers had to pay a three-month subscription fee for any of Azam TV’s packages—Azam Play, Azam Plus, or Azam Pure.

The promotion not only rewarded loyal viewers but also significantly strengthened customer engagement and loyalty across the country.

Azam TV continues to position itself as a customer-centered digital satellite provider by offering not only quality entertainment but also life-changing opportunities.
