In what started as a mere speculation that 400 guns have been allegedly distributed to some Malawi Congress Party (MCP) youth operatives, the truth has come out at Mponela trading centre in Dowa district when gunshots were heard which ended up torching a bus which was on the convoy escorting DPP Vice President for the Centre Alfred Gangata from Ntchisi on Sunday.

Earlier on the day, Gangata shared a video clip that they have received information from Mponela that some MCP youth operatives have blocked the road at the bridge and others are following them to Ntchisi to attack them.

Gangata said police at Mponela and Ntchisi were informed on the alleged attack and the party’s Director of Youth Norman Paulosi Chisale alerted the police at the National police headquarters that their lives were in danger.

He appealed to DPP members across the country to pray for them so that they hold their meeting in Ntchisi and come back home alive claiming that the DPP believes in peace, justice and development putting everything in God’s control.

The Vice DPP President said Malawi is facing so many challenges for the MCP led government to provide solutions and not sponsoring youth operatives to ambush members of the opposition parties arguing that Malawi is a democratic state.

“We have been reliably informed that our friends are ready for us, pray for us so that we can have a good journey to and fro Ntchisi,” said Gangata.

As they were returning back from Ntchisi to Lilongwe, MCP thugs shot a bus which was carrying DPP members and torched it, Anaachepa’s vehicle had all the windows smashed by a big stone and by God’s grace, all those who were in the attacked bus, managed to get out and ran way into safety.

DPPs Director of Youth Norman Chisale has assured the MCP that the war they have started with peace-loving Malawians, they will not fulfill it accusing the police that beside the alert information reached them, they did nothing to provide them with security.

Limpopo FM online radio station has reported that angry people attacked Mponela police Station and broken into some shops at Mponela Trading Centre saying this affected business at the trading centre particularly with gun sounds.

The Radio’s Nkhanga zaona producer Comrade Mtanyiwa said MCP youth operatives were using MK2 riffles allegedly targeting to kill Gangata and Norman Chisale saying its reporters are on the ground in Mponela to establish identities of the attackers.

Comrade Mtanyiwa said already, he has received 12 names with the total amount disbursed by the MCP of K200 million to the attackers assuring Malawians that by close of business on Monday, they will be informed on who and who was part of the attacking thugs.
