In a recent announcement, Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (Mera) has swiftly refuted claims of adjusting fuel prices for petrol and diesel. The Chief Executive Officer Henry Kachaje clarified that amidst circulating rumours, petrol remains at K2530 while diesel holds steady at K2734 per litre.
The clarification comes in response to reports of long queues at various filling stations across the country. Kachaje emphasized the importance of disregarding false and misleading information. The only price adjustment noted was for Liqudified Petroleum Gas (LPG), which has been raised from K3245 to K3740.
