During a series of campaign meetings held on Friday at Sawale and later at the MANICA ground in Balaka, UTM Party President Dr. Dalitso Kabambe reaffirmed to Malawians that his party holds the key to resolving the country’s deepening socio-economic woes.
Addressing a large gathering, Dr. Kabambe expressed unwavering confidence in UTM’s capacity to revive Malawi’s economy, which he said has been ruined by the current administration’s failure to manage public resources effectively.
He promised to prioritize job creation, particularly for the youth, stating that the current levels of unemployment are unacceptable and indicative of poor leadership.
Dr. Kabambe said a UTM government would harness Malawi’s untapped potential by investing in local industries such as textile manufacturing.
He cited Balaka’s cotton farming as a cornerstone for developing factories that can produce clothing, thereby creating thousands of jobs and adding value to local raw materials.
Supporting this vision, UTM’s chief advisor Patricia Kaliati described Dr. Kabambe as the leader Malawi desperately needs to rescue its citizens from the grip of poverty, which she said has worsened under the current leadership.
She urged Malawians to rally behind Kabambe for meaningful transformation that restores dignity and economic hope across the nation.
