Rights activist Pastor Moses Shumba has alleged that at the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) headquarters in Lilongwe, they are keeping guns challenging Malawi Defense Force (MDF) private soldiers to question why MCP is possessing guns and what law they are using in Malawi.
First, it was Bakili Muluzi TV which alleged that 400 guns have made their way into the country and they will be distributed to MCP youth operatives to target opposition leaders in the run-up to the much-anticipated 16th September, 2025 elections.
Alleged MCP youth operatives shot a DPP minibus and set it ablaze which was on the convoy of the party’s Vice President for the Centre Alfred Gangata in Mponela from Ntchisi where they went to address a rally.
There has been no word on the shooting incident in Mponela, MDF Commander General Dr. Paul Velentino Phiri and Police Inspector General madam Merlyn Yolamu are all quiet, and today, another allegation has come to light MCP headquarters being treated as a barracks of keeping guns.
Speaking through an audio clip, Pastor Moses Shumba has claimed that the MCP of President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has gone past the MCP of Kamuzu Banda saying at no time Malawians learnt that Kamuzu was keeping guns at the MCP headquarters.
Pastor Shumba said Malawi Police Service and Malawi Defense Force are the two public institutions that are mandated to keep guns by law wondering why the MCP is using its headquarters in Lilongwe as a barracks of keeping guns and for what purposes.
On the Smartmatic machine, Pastor Shumba has asked Mec Chairperson to read Exodus Chapter 20 that it is only God’s laws which cannot be changed assuring her that God is not sleeping, he is with Malawians and he will defeat her together with the MCP.
“The living God cannot allow his people in Malawi to shed blood because of elections that Justice Annabel Mtalimanja is protecting President Chakwera and his MCP from going out of government,” he said.
Pastor Shumba has assured Mtalimanja that God has accepted that enough is enough with the MCP, no matter what stand she will take to defend Chakwera and his MCP, Malawi Congress Party is not winning the 16th September, 2025 elections.
He said God will stand together with the 20 million plus Malawians that are praying for change of government and will punish 1.5 million people that are happy and clapping hands at President Chakwera destroying the country.
The church bishop has asked the Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) to stop its plans of registering phone simcards as a way of dealing with increasing cases of theft citing money via Airtel money and TNM Mpamba.
Pastor Shumba said the role of dealing with theft is resting in the telecommunications mobile companies not MACRA advising Daud Suleiman that Malawians are awakening people they are all aware that Smartmatic has failed and he wants to bring in a new rigging scheme for the MCP through simcards registrations.
He has asked MACRA that if they are serious in their Simcard registration, this could have been done after the 16th September, 2025 elections not now, they should not hide their agenda through TNM and Airtel.
