Freedom Fighter and activist Kamlepo Kalua, says the Simartmatic machine was procured to serve two purposes; registering voters and verification of names and not transmission of votes from constituency to the main Tally centre.
Kalua said the Procurement Officer of the Smartmatic machine Dr. Anthony John Mukumbwa, the machine is for registering voters and verification of voters and nothing else advising leaders to be talking peace and leaders must ignore whatever destructive is on their tables.
He said he know how Malawi was before 1994 and know what Malawi is in 2020 saying political violence and killings of innocent people will take the country to nowhere, glory be to God, what he wants is to see that democracy is prevailing amongst Malawians.
Speaking through an audio clip, Kamlepo Kalua has alleged that Justice Annabel Mtalimanja and Andrew Mpesi are the ones who have brought in the third duty of the Smartmatic machine as transmitting votes from the constituency tally centres.
Kalua has advised Mtalimanja and Mpesi to let independent ICT experts to inspect the machines so that all Malawians are satisfied to declare the 16th September, 2025 elections free and fair and thanking the Mec for being impartial and transparent.
He said if the DPP rejected what the MCP is rejecting to inspect the voters’ roll, President Chakwera would not have been voted into office in June, 2020 saying the MCP should be thankful to the DPP for allowing independent ICT experts to inspect the voters’ roll.
The Freedom Fighter said Malawi has 229 constituencies from 93 saying it is the wish of the registered voters to see to it that votes are manually counted not systematically for the winner to be identified at the polling centre other than sending the results to the main tally centre by Smartmatic.
He said in the United States of America (USA) all the states rejected the use of Smartmatic in their country and instead, manual counting of votes was used which declared President Donald Trump as the winner of that country’s elections.
“If the Americans rejected it, who are we on Earth that we can preside the elections free and fair, madam Mtalimanja and Mpesi listen to the concerns not only of Malawi but worldwide,” said Kalua.
Commenting on his assassins, Kalua said they have identified the assassins saying yesterday, they were at the 6 miles in Lilongwe, claiming that he has already alerted the Americans, Britain, France, Spain and France, among other countries that his life is in the hands of his assassins.
Kalua has encouraged those that have conspired to send thugs to kill him to continue with their evil plans, assuring them that Malawi is not a banana Republic saying what he is asking for is for the elections to be fair and free.
Kalua has finally said it is the prayer by all peaceful Malawians that thugs should not be hunting for the lives of those that demanding Mec to preside over a free, fair, credible and transparent 16th September, 2025 elections.
