It was goalless at the break between Malawi and Namibia in their Group B clash at the ongoing Hollywoodbets COSAFA Cup at Dr. Petrus Molemela Stadium in Bloemfontein, South Africa.
The Flames dominated the first half and appeared the more threatening side but failed to convert their superiority into goals.
Chikumbutso Salima came closest for Malawi, but his effort from close range was comfortably gathered by the Namibian goalkeeper.
Despite being on the back foot for most of the half, Namibia managed to test Flames shot-stopper George Chikooka, who was equal to the task.
Both teams are still chasing their first victory in the tournament, which adds to the tension in the contest.
Malawi is seeking redemption after suffering a narrow 1-0 defeat to Lesotho in their opening match.
Namibia, on the other hand, came into this encounter with some momentum, having drawn 1-1 with defending champions Angola on Thursday.
The second half promises to be a decisive period for both teams as they aim to keep their COSAFA Cup hopes alive.
