Bright Msaka Represents Mutharika and DPP at Chilima Memorial in Nsipe

Honourable Bright Msaka SC, MP, represented His Excellency Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika and the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) at the memorial ceremony of the late Vice President Dr. Saulosi Klaus Chilima.

The event was held in Nsipe, Ntcheu District, on Tuesday, 10th June 2025.

Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, who is the fifth President of the Republic of Malawi and leader of the DPP, appointed Honourable Msaka to stand in for him at the important occasion.

Honourable Msaka is the Vice President of the DPP for the Eastern Region.

His participation at the ceremony demonstrated the party’s gesture of unity and national mourning following the tragic death of Dr. Chilima.

The memorial was also in honour of eight others who died alongside the late Vice President.

Their passing has deeply affected the nation, drawing attention from across the political and social spectrum.

Ahead of the ceremony, the Democratic Progressive Party encouraged all its supporters to join Honourable Msaka and other senior party officials at the event.

This show of support aimed to reflect national solidarity and shared grief over the loss of a highly regarded national leader.

Dr. Chilima was celebrated for his leadership, vision, and dedication to the people of Malawi.

His death, along with that of his colleagues, continues to resonate with citizens across the country.
