Political activist Bon Kalindo has advised opposition political parties to open their eyes that President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and his MCP are using everything possible to see to it that Malawi’s democracy is thrown to the dogs not to human beings.
Kalindo has claimed that the beating to half-dead of Sylvester Namiwa in Lilongwe in full view of police and MDF officers watching without rescuing him from the violent MCP attackers, should be a great lesson to relate the 16th September, 2025 elections of what it will be.
He has alleged that Malawians have identities of police officers from Area 3, 30, Kasungu and some were youth from Biwi, Mchesi and surrounding areas dressed up in Police uniforms behind assaulting Namiwa and left him half-dead.
Speaking through an audio clip, Kalindo has praised General Vincent Nundwe for instilling discipline in the Malawi Defense Force (MDF) claiming that if he was still Commander, the ugly scenes that happened at the Lilongwe Community Centre ground, could not happen.
Kalindo said the current Army Commander General Dr. Paul Velentino Phiri has turned the MDF into MCP MDF saying it was not surprising to see Namiwa crying before the soldiers seeking for protection but his voice was not heard by them.
He has also accused Police Inspector General Madam Yolamu of taking the police into MCP affairs describing her as the worst police chief the country has ever had since the dawn of multi-party politics and democracy in Malawi in 1994.
The activist has claimed that Madam Yolamu told an all-inclusive Public Affairs Committee (PAC) in Blantyre that the police will work hand in hand with all other security agencies to ensure that there will be no political violence ahead of the 16th September, 2025 elections.
He said Malawians did not know that the very same police officers will be behind assaulting Namiwa leaving him half-dead saying the evidence was head from their whatsApp forum celebrating that they have accomplished their mission against Namiwa.
“As the writings are on the wall, we don’t have the Army and Police to stand with the people during peaceful protests, the war to liberate the country will be by the people themselves without the Police and Army on their side,” said Kalindo.
He has asked opposition leaders to hold an emergency meeting to map the way forward writing a joint letter to Trump and Putin not to fund the 16th September, 2025 elections on the basis that the elections will be bloody.
He has finally assured the MDF and Malawi Police Service that they have done with the life of Namiwa, next is him, they can call him to be hanged in their premises or taking him to the same venue where Namiwa was left half-dead.
