Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Secretary General, Honorable Peter Mukhito, who is also the Shadow Member of Parliament for Lilongwe City Centre constituency, has vowed to bring meaningful development and lasting change to the area.
Mukhito made these commitments while outlining his vision for the constituency should he be elected into Parliament and if the DPP returns to power with Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika as President.
He emphasized that the people of Lilongwe City Centre deserve better infrastructure, services, and economic opportunities, and his leadership will prioritize addressing their long-standing needs.
One of the key promises made by Mukhito is the installation of water taps within communities to improve access to clean and safe drinking water.
He also pledged to provide small business support and loan opportunities for women and the youth, aiming to boost entrepreneurship and reduce unemployment in the area.
Mukhito further committed to establishing a technical college specifically targeting the youth, saying vocational and technical skills are essential for empowering the next generation and building a self-reliant society.
To address healthcare challenges in the constituency, he promised the establishment of a clinic that would offer quality health services closer to where people live.
Moreover, Mukhito announced plans to spearhead the construction of roads and bridges across the constituency to enhance mobility, connect communities, and stimulate local development.
He concluded by stating that his development agenda is people-centered and aligned with the broader vision of the DPP under the leadership of Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika.
According to Mukhito, Lilongwe City Centre has been neglected for too long, and now is the time for real leadership that delivers results.
He urged residents to support him and the DPP in the next elections, promising to be a servant leader who listens and acts.
