Central Poultry Limited has pledged K400 million in support of Pacific Limited’s ongoing free borehole rehabilitation initiative aimed at improving access to clean and safe water for communities across Malawi.

The support comes as part of a newly announced partnership between the two companies, which is expected to breathe life into hundreds of broken boreholes in rural areas where clean water remains a daily challenge.

Speaking during the announcement of the pledge, Central Poultry Limited Chief Executive Officer, Nizam Kasmany, said the initiative aligns with the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) objectives.

“This partnership involves a K400 million investment in borehole spare parts, which will be handed over to Pacific Limited to support their social responsibility initiative. The goal is to rehabilitate 250 boreholes across the country, thereby improving access to clean water for communities in need,” said Kasmany.

Pacific Limited CEO Faizal Aboo expressed gratitude for the collaboration, saying the support from Central Poultry will significantly boost their efforts.

“This is a timely and commendable gesture from Central Poultry Limited. Their contribution will allow us to continue our mission of bringing clean water closer to the people, especially in hard-to-reach areas. Thousands of lives will be positively impacted,” Aboo said.

Pacific Limited launched its free borehole rehabilitation programme in 2015, and to date, the company has repaired over 8,000 boreholes nationwide, easing water challenges for countless Malawian households.

The partnership is expected to further accelerate progress toward national water access goals and demonstrates how private sector collaboration can play a critical role in community development.
