A voice of the many who see the storm approaching Comrade Alhaji Imraan Jumbe, says when the Hyena is chasing village goats, the whole village should wake up not just the shepherd, saying the land is crying, the country’s democracy is under siege, all must act.
Comrade Jumbe has commended and rallying behind the brave effort led by DPP, UTM, Hon. Kamlepo Kalua and others, who have taken Mec to court saying the case must not end with a mere audit of the voters’ roll.
He says as one of those in the forefront pushing this matter to go to court, he has submitted that the time of soft gloves is over, this case must be strengthened beyond measure to rescue Malawi from the jaws of electoral theft.
Writing on his face book page, Comrade Jumbe has demanded the court to assess whether it is appropriate for known MCP diehards to lead independent institutions such as the Malawi Electoral Commission (Mec).
Comrade Jumbe says it is against all democratic logic for individuals like Justice Annabel Mtalimanja and Andrew Mpesi- whose neutrality is in serious question to continue presiding over such a sensitive Electoral body.
He has called for the two to immediately be removed if this country is to regain trust in its electoral process observing that a goat cannot be judged by a lion and expect justice saying Malawians do not expect justice from the two.
The voice of the many has demanded the nullification of the entire voter registration process which has been riddled with fraud, manipulation, and deliberate malpractice claiming that minors were shamelessly registered, names went missing, multiple identities emerged in the central region- the stronghold of the MCP, this is not just incompetence, it is a deliberate electoral sabotage.
“Our concern stretches further, MCP is abusing state resources, using public funds to corrupt the electoral process,” reads Jumbe’s writings on the wall.
He has claimed that chiefs and teachers are receiving handouts at the State House, NEEF is being used as campaign machinery claiming that Pastors have openly admitted receiving K8.4 billion from NEEF under the guise of development.
Comrade Jumbe says police vehicles are ferrying teachers and civil servants to collect money saying this is not vote buying questioning what is it? what kind of elections is being prepared for decided by pangas, fear, bribery and intimidation? and the MCP is instilling fear in citizens through violence, threatening the peace and dignity of this land.
He has called upon the learned judges to show courage and wisdom in the interest of peace, fairness, and justice, demanding that the upcoming elections be suspended until all issues are thoroughly addressed advising the court to appoint an Interim Government to steer the nation forward while cleansing Mec and restore dignity to the country’s electoral process.
Comrade Jumbe says Malawi is bigger than any political party advising Malawians not to allow their country sink into chaos and illegitimacy demanding justice now and not after the storm urging all to stand together, rise together, and fight for the soul of their democracy warning Malawians that if they don’t act today, history will remember them as the generation that folded their hands while thieves were stealing their future
