TNM Backs ICAM with K10 Million for Annual Conference

Telekom Networks Malawi (TNM) plc has reaffirmed its commitment to national development by pledging K10 million to the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Malawi (ICAM) in support of its upcoming annual conference.

The prestigious event, expected to attract 1,200 delegates from across the country and beyond, is one of the largest gatherings of financial professionals in Malawi. It serves as a platform for sharing knowledge, discussing emerging trends, and strengthening the accountancy profession’s contribution to economic growth.

Speaking at the cheque presentation ceremony held in Blantyre, TNM’s Chief Finance Officer, Peter Kadzitche, said the donation reflects TNM’s recognition of the vital role accountants play in Malawi’s economy.

“Accountants are central to financial integrity, transparency, and governance — all of which are key drivers of economic stability and growth. As a homegrown company, TNM believes in supporting initiatives that empower the professionals who help shape Malawi’s economic landscape,” Kadzitche said.

He further expressed hope that the conference would inspire innovative ideas that can help transform the financial and corporate sectors of the country.

Receiving the donation, ICAM Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Francis Chinjoka Gondwe, applauded TNM for its continued partnership and support towards the accountancy profession.

“TNM’s support goes beyond this financial contribution; it reflects a shared vision for a prosperous Malawi built on sound financial management and ethical leadership,” Dr. Gondwe said.

The ICAM annual conference is slated for next month under the theme “Redefining Business Success: Sustainability, Governance, and Innovation.”
