Ayuba James accepts IPOR survey on Mutharika’s lead

By Vincent Gunde

Lawyer Sylvester Ayuba James who is also a diehard member of the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) says as a citizen, he refuses to react to the Institute of Public Opinion and Research (IPOR) survey which has put Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika commanding an early lead in the elections of the 16th September, 2025 with 43 percent.

Ayuba James says he would rather accept it and use it to make the right decision, people’s opinion can change with a flick saying a month and weeks, if best utilized with a very targeted campaign approach, other than ferrying multitudes in trucks, can pull surprises.

He says the problem with most political parties including his own MCP, there is always one or few persons who claim to know it all, observing that they have a toxic resistance to advice and are insulated from any kind of alternative perspective.

“Unfortunately, these are always the dumbest of the lamb, you just sit there shaking your head at the amazement of their dumbness,” reads Ayuba James’s writings on the wall.

Mr. Rodgers Kamphangala said he is not surprised with the results of the IPOR survey which has put Professor Mutharika at 43 percent, President Chakwera 26 percent, Dr. Dalitso Kabambe 5 percent while Dr. Joyce Banda and Atupele Muluzi sharing 2 percent.

Kamphangala has again called on President Chakwera to send his own trusted media team to conduct a survey in Dowa and Ntchisi on who is to be voted for on the 16th September, 2025 elections between President Chakwera and Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika.

He has assured President Chakwera that Malawians including the Chewas, have lost trust in him as their President saying if he had a sense of being human enough, he would not havestand on the 16th September, 2025 elections.

Kamphangala said had he been listening to Isaiah Emmanuel Sunganimoyo he would have been a darling of the people but he has been listening to people who were planning for his downfall describing this as President Chakwera’s own fault of not listening to constructive criticisms.

“If Malawians are to vote without Smartmartic machines transmitting the election figures to the tally centre in Lilongwe, President Chakwera will lose miserably, God will be my witness,” he said.

According to the IPOR survey, Professor Mutharika is earning support from the youth aged between 18 and 35 Kamphangala said minors that were registered in the Central Region, the stronghold of the MCP, will vote for Professor Mutharika and not President Chakwera.

Kamphangala has finally advised the MCP that a de-campaigning strategy on the age of Professor Mutharika, will not work saying the youth are all aware that Professor Mutharika is old and will not need politicians of the MCP to tell them that Professor Mutharika is old.
