Songwe Border United Gears Up for Second Round Survival Battle

By Suleman Chitera

Struggling TNM Super League newcomers Songwe Border United are plotting a major squad shake-up as they prepare for the second round of the season, determined to reverse their dismal start.

Rooted at the bottom of the table with just one point from 14 games and still chasing their first-ever top-flight victory, the border-town side is banking on new signings to inject much-needed experience and stability.

Club General Secretary Palisha Swira revealed that recruitment plans are already in motion.

“We are working to register new players who can bring in experience and stability to help us survive in the league,” said Swira, adding that the first round had been a steep learning curve.

Despite their rocky debut, Swira remains optimistic that fortunes will change in the second half of the campaign.

“The first round was very challenging, but we believe the new players will help us turn things around,” he said.

With a crucial clash against Mighty Tigers tomorrow, Swira has called on fans to rally behind the team, hoping it could mark the dawn of their long-awaited first win.

Songwe Border United’s fight for survival has just begun — and the second round might be their chance to rewrite their debut-season story.
