The Dowa District Council has expressed its deep appreciation for services which are being rendered by TNM MPAMBA Limited to Climate Smart participants and Social Cash Transfer Program(SCTP) beneficiaries in the district.
The Council’s Director of Planning and Development Mercy Mpakule, said it is not the first time to work with the TNM Mpamba saying the previous service provider was unable to provide services, TNM Mpamba came in to assist in the provision of services.
Mpakule has assured TNM Mpamba that the council will continue working with it and is readily available if there are issues advising it to beef up their agents they have in the district and improving their network in areas where there are problems in the district.
“We hope our Climate Smart participants and SCTP beneficiaries will be able to access the services of TNM Mpamba without problems,” she said.
TNM Mpamba Business Development Manager Linda Moyo, said TNM Mpamba Limited is a digital financial service provider offering mobile money services saying it was registered as a separate entity in November, 2018 and it is 100 percent owned by TNM private corporation.
Moyo said Mpamba users can receive, withdraw and send money with their mobile wallet without the being connected to formal banking system.
She said Mpamba is used to meet the demands of customers because it is safe, cost effective, secure, auditable and is flexible to meet organizational needs saying Mpamba customer wallets have a holding limit of K1 million and a daily transaction limit of K750,000.
“Among the activities TNM Mpamba is doing before commencing money transfers in Dowa include: stakeholder sensitization, beneficiary sensitization meetings, phone number validation, phone distribution, and actual transfers,” said Moyo.
