Phalombe Boma erupted on Saturday, 16 August 2025, as Dr. Michael Bizwick Usi, President of Odya Zake Alibe Mlandu, rolled in with a powerful message.
He emphasized that Malawi’s change will not come from handouts, but from empowering people to stand on their own feet.
Breaking down his manifesto, Dr. Usi addressed key sectors including the economy, education, mining, agriculture, and food security.
He vowed to fight corruption, create real wealth, and ensure no Malawian goes to bed hungry.
“M’boma muli mbava… If they are not thieves, they must shut up,” he boldly stated.
He added, “I am poor, I know what poverty feels like — and I know we can fight it if we work honestly and together.”
Drawing from his 25 years at ADRA and his experience as an international development expert, Dr. Usi’s message was clear.

He painted a vision of the future belonging to a Malawi where every citizen eats from their own hands.
