Waka’s ‘worthless’ towel costs Bullets K5.750 million

Super League of Malawi Disciplinary Committee has fined FCB Nyasa Big Bullets K 5 750 000.00 for being found guilty on the misconducts that occurred at Kamuzu Stadium in a TNM Super League match against Blue Eagles FC on July 27.

During the match, with the two sides tied 0-0, a Bullets supporter snatched a towel from the then Blue Eagles goalkeeper Joshua Waka, before disappearing into the stands.

Ironically, moments later Bullets conceded and went on to lose 0-1.

This was a second incident for a Bullets fan to snatch a Blue Eagles ‘keeper’s towel. The first incident occurred on October 15, 2022, at Kamuzu Stadium when Bullets supporters invaded the pitch and seized then-goalkeeper Brighton Munthali’s towel.

Munthali was left visibly shaken and Eagles conceded shortly after the disturbance and the match ended 1-1.

That time, no disciplinary action was taken despite Eagles filing a complaint.
