UTM Campaign: Clean Politics and Economic Revival Ahead of September Polls

By Suleman Chitera

Karonga, Malawi — UTM’s presidential running mate, Matthews Mtumbuka, is pushing for a new era of politics as the country heads toward the September 16 elections. Speaking passionately in Karonga, Mtumbuka called for a campaign rooted in issues, not personal attacks, urging politicians to abandon “primitive politics.”

Under the leadership of Dalitso Kabambe, Mtumbuka said UTM is committed to tackling Malawi’s pressing challenges, including economic stagnation, youth unemployment, and lack of accountable governance. He accused the current MCP administration of letting Malawians down, emphasizing that real change requires action, not rhetoric.

Highlighting the party’s strong support in the Northern Region, Mtumbuka assured citizens that UTM’s top priority is to revitalize the struggling economy while empowering the nation’s youth.

As Malawi’s political scene heats up, Mtumbuka’s call for a clean, issue-focused campaign is a reminder that voters want leaders who deliver results—not insults.
