Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) Director General George Kasakula, has described Vice President of the Republic of Malawi who is also Odyazake Alibe Mlandu Party President Dr. Michael Usi as a confused man who has no plan for campaign.
Kasakula said what comes out in Dr. Usi’s mind, he just says it for Malawians to be clapping their hands at him for doing a better job, speaking of people who are involved in corruption but at no time, he has mentioned names of these people.
He said if it is true that corruption is taking place in government, he would have gone to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) to report other than using the podium when he is addressing people that there is rampant corruption in government.
Speaking through Timvetse radio and Television programme, Kasakula said the ACB did a good job of inviting Dr. Usi to its offices giving him 2 days to disclose names of suspects who are involved in corruption in the MCP led government.
Kasakula said instead of going to the ACB offices, Dr. Usi went to the court to block him from going to the ACB offices a thing which was done on the argument that this is the time of campaign that Dr. Usi is playing his part in wooing voters to vote for him on the 16th September, 2025.
He said in all of what Dr. Usi is speaking of corruption in government, he has no evidence of the people involved only inviting comments on face books saying he is only seeing Dr. Usi as being a dramatist evidenced with cooking mandasi video clips.
“Dr. Usi has no campaign principles, he is just a liar, only wanting to get fame from social media and other sources,” said Kasakula.
On his part, a former politician – Humphreys Mvula said he has proved Dr. Usi as a man who is looking for headline in various media platforms challenging him that if he can get 200,000 of the votes counted on the 16th September, 2025 elections, he is a lucky person.
Mvula said Dr. Usi will remain and die a comedian claiming that he is a man who don’t want to say thank you observing that he is doing all this while angry after being dropped as President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera’s running mate
He said Dr. Usi would have to go to President Chakwera being working together that he has come with his people to be working with him and not forming his political party saying by forming his political party while he is the Vice President to President Chakwera, he made a big mistake
“Dr. Usi is the biggest fraud, he is enjoying government privileges and has forgotten all this and is looking like an angel speaking in public that there are corrupt people in government,” said Mvula.
On his part, Kelvin Mpekasambo has advised Dr. Usi of the old proverb “that for one to look intelligent, he or she must close his mouth” assuring him that theft by public servant allegation is a very serious offense in government.
