MultiChoice through SuperSport has donated television sports production equipment to Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC). MBC Director General, George Kasakula, received the equipment on behalf of the corporation at Chichiri Broadcasting House in Blantyre. In his remarks, Kasakula lauded the cordial relationship between the two companies and thanked MultiChoice for the timely donation. Kasakula further said the equipment will go a long way in helping MBC to expand its sports coverage and meet the requirements of its audience. Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) management is engaging the corporate world and its partners so that they can fully utilise MBC 2 On The Go by advertising their products and services. Speaking during a cocktail at Mount Soche Hotel in Blantyre organized to interact with potential advertisers, the Director General of MBC, George Kasakula, assured the gathering to advertise on MBC TV 2 which has no interruptions. Kasakula added that MBC TV 2 comes with different packages including sports to entertain the viewers. One of MBC's advertisers, Enerst Kaonga, who is the Managing Director of Maranatha Private Schools, welcomes the development saying he had issues with the previous arrangement as his institution's infomercials kept on being shifted because of the special functions.

MBC DG George Kasakula who is well known for bullying his subordinates at Times and firing them at will, is at it again, now even with more power and without mercy. Kasakula ordered the suspension of Acting Controller of Programs (TV) Emmanuel Thuwala for alleged insubordination. According to some MBC sources, Thuwala, who replaced Steven Maseya on the position in an acting capacity, stepped on the toes of Kasakula after he sent Saul Rashid and Stanley Kadzuwa to Neno where President Lazarus Chakwera was launching the National Youth Service, last week Tuesday. This got Kasakula infuriated because the two are on the list of some blacklisted "cadets" who are not supposed to cover Presidential functions. The Malawi Broadcasting Corporation MBC has assured Malawians that it will cover live all the remaining Flames matches in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. MBC’s Director-General, George Kasakula, said the public broadcaster acquired the 2023 AFCON qualifiers' rights last year. “I can assure all Malawians that they will be watching the Flames wherever they go including the one they will play against Guinea this coming Thursday.
