Minister of Tourism and Culture Michael Usi has urged people in Mulanje to remain united and embrace tolerance regardless of their social and political affiliations. Usi who is also UTM Vice President was speaking at Golden village, Traditional Authority Chikumbu in Mulanje. He said there is no country which has developed where its people worked antagonistically. "In heaven, they will not say this one belongs to DPP, UTM, MCP, UDF or any other party, we shall be treated equally, let us embrace each other if we are to prosper," Usi said. UTM Vice President, Michael Usi says there are evil people in government who are deliberately frustrating the systems. Speaking at a UTM rally held at Nyambadwe Primary School Ground, Usi said for instance, on August 31, 2022, he was made aware that there are certain people at the Department of Immigration and Citizenship Services who are tampering with the network system which is leading people seeking services to get frustrated. Bad attitude in public service and poor performance among civil servants is derailing developmental projects in the country, Minister of Tourism Dr. Michael Usi has said. He disclosed, “investors continue to shun Malawi because of this ‘undesirable behavior’ among civil servants, which threatens Malawi's developmental agenda.” The minister said this in Machinga on Friday when he opened Liwonde Sun Hotel, where he cautioned to close down facilities that likewise, fail to meet set standards. A South African dancer Zodwa Wabantu, real name Rebecca Libram who was poised to perform at Dominic’s Hotel in Blantyre has been banned from performing in Malawi. Minister of Tourism and Culture, Michael Usi confirmed the news to Malawi Broadcasting Corporation saying the ban is to do with her style of performance which cannot be accepted in the country as it demeans women’s dignity. “As a ministry, we do not have issues with her.
