Political activist Bon Kalindo, says Malawi is in the period of forgiveness with 3 days to go before President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera is judged on the ballot on whether or not he has fulfilled promises made in 2020 for renewed commitment.
Kalindo said after he was elected into office in June, 2020 President Chakwera promised to take Malawians to the promised land- Canaan but he has only reached alone and his ministers as well as those that are surrounding him, Malawians are still in Egypt working as slaves

He said President Chakwera promised to clear the rubble in government, but instead, he has become the rubble himself demanding Malawians that have sailed through pain and sufferings in 5 years of his leadership to join hands on the ballot to remove him.
Speaking through an audio clip, Kalindo has urged registered voters to remember the face of Dr. Saulosi Klaus Chilima on the 16th September, 2025 elections claiming that Chilima died while holding the Malawi national flag.
Kalindo said Dr. Chilima, did not die in vain, he made President Chakwera to be where he is in now because of him observing that he lowered himself down for an inexperienced driver to drive the country to the bush leading to asking for forgiveness from Malawians.
He has appealed to Malawians that on the voting day, they should not feel mercy on Chakwera because he asked for forgiveness arguing that if he wanted in good faith for Malawians to forgive him, he would not have time to kill one who made him to be in that position today.
The activist said it is sad that after President Chakwera and those surrounding him have stolen a lot from government, he is coming kneeling down before Malawians to forgive him for fuel woos which has been the order of the day in Malawi.
He said instead of resigning as per his words that he fails to run the country in the interest of all within two years, President Chakwera has forgotten that he has made the people to eat wild bushes (chitedze) grass and nyika as food for their survival
“We are indeed in the period of forgiveness, President Chakwera is forcing himself to be President while the people are sick and tired to have him as their president,” said Kalindo.
He has asked President Chakwera when will he announce cabinet dissolution taking into account that the country is going to the elections, ministers and presidential advisors are still enjoying their privileges in government in the period of forgiveness.
He has finally asked Malawians that those who will buy a bag of fertilizer for commercial farmers at K90,000 as per President Chakwera’s announcement, should screenshot the receipt and share it to him to prove that President Chakwera is asking Malawians to forgive him for his lies.
