A Malawi Congress Party (MCP) diehard of Mvera in Dowa district Mr. Rodgers Kamphangala, has called on the new government of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) to investigate more of the new 3 years contracts Chief Executive Officers (CEOS) of Statutory Corporations have signed in government.

Kamphangala said there have been dubious signing of new contracts taking advantage of the transitional period of handing over power between President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika.

He has warned the new government that if this is not taken care of in an as soon as possible, there will be sabotaging of government projects because these people will be working tooth and nail to make sure that there is a fall of a new government.

The MCP diehard has backed government decision of suspending three heads of Statutory Corporations such as MACRA, MBC and National Economic Empowerment Fund (NEEF) advising the new government to extend this to MRA, ACB and Malawi Electoral Commission (Mec), among others.

He recalled that President Professor Mutharika is on record to have written a letter to MACRA during the run up to the 16th September, 2025 general elections to stop MBC from insulting and castigating him left and right during its programme- Timvetse.

Professor Mutharika said he did not receive a response from MACRA and MBC continued to air the programme for their own benefit disregarding the fact that both the radio and television station are funded by taxpayers’ money.

He made it clearly that these people Mr. George Kasakula and Daud Suleiman will find a place to work from the 16th September, 2025 and this is October, 2025 Kamphangala has find no element of politics leading to their suspensions.

The MCP diehard said Kasakula and Suleiman deserves suspension from their duties because they proved already that they cannot work with someone who is not of their choice advising the two to follow President Chakwera wherever he is as their team.

“All those who were working with Kasakula in anchoring Timvetse programme on MBC must be transferred to other duties or to MCP headquarters,” said Kamphangala.

He said for Mr. Humphrey Mdyetseni and NEEF, Kamphangala has called on government to hold him accountable for distributing fertilizer loans to individuals of the MCP without gardens and others are on the list of beneficiaries while not received the loans.

Kamphangala has called for total shut down of NEEF offices and perhaps disbandment observing that ever since that fund was created those that are benefiting are politicians and state house staff while in the villages, people are being forced to clap their hands for nonsense.
