President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, has finally closed the case of Second Vice President of the Republic of Malawi Enock Kamzingeni Chihana which has been a subject of discussions in many media platforms that on Tuesday the 21st October, 2025 he will be presiding over his Swearing- in ceremony at Sanjika Palace in Blantyre.
There have been heated discussions in various social media platforms that Chihana was earmarked to be appointed Second Vice President of the Republic and Minister of Agriculture but on a surprising note, President Professor Mutharika has appointed Hon. Roza Fatch Mbilizi as Minister of Agriculture.
This development forced some other people to issue a FAKE statement as from the Alliance for Democracy (AFORD) expressing disappointment over the DPP blatant disregard for the coalition agreement signed between the two parties.
In the statement described as FAKE, AFORD President Chihana was to assume the office of the Second Vice President and Minister of Agriculture, the DPP has seen it to renege on its promises describing this as a breach of trust.
The statement said the DPP has clearly indicated that it does not value the partnership between the two parties urging the DPP and its leader Professor Mutharika to honor his commitment and respect the agreement they signed.
“AFORD will not stand idly by while our party and President Chihana are treated with disdain, we will take all necessary steps to protect our interests and uphold the agreement,” reads the FAKE statement in part.
The AFORD called upon the DPP to revisit the matter and adhere to the terms of their coalition agreement and failure to do so, will leave them with no choice but to explore all available options, including legal action.
In a recent Nkhanga zaona programme on Limpopo FM online radio station, Comrade Ntanyiwa appealed to all Malawians to tune in to the radio as the only trusted source for propagandas against the DPP and President Professor Mutharika.
Comrade Ntanyiwa assured Malawians that Chihana is going nowhere, he will be Sworn-in alongside with two newly appointed ministers Hon Roza Fatch Mbilizi- Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development and Hon. George Patrige –Minister of Industrialization, Business, Trade and Tourism.
