Freedom fighter and rights activist Hon. Kamlepo Kalua, has accused President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and his so called powerful minister allegedly of stealing sugar in the country with the help of some Burundian business people.
Kalua has doubted whether President Chakwera is a leader or a syndicate leader observing that he is continuing destroying the country with his powerful minister advising him to get out of politics so that tomorrow, he should not be investigated for sugar saga in the country.
He has asked Malawi Police to invade Saidi investment in Nchalo- Chikwawa where the powerful minister is keeping tonnes and tonnes of sugar saying he has already sent pictures of the sugar to the police to be confiscated.
The freedom fighter said it is sad that 1 bale of sugar is being sold at K59000 and the same is being sold at local markets at K80,000 per bale observing that the whole operation is being made with the help of Burundian business people.
Speaking through an audio clip, Kalua said it is for this reason that a Movement that has 3 objectives to protect Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, to protect freedom and democracy and to fight against corruption in Malawi is born.
Kalua said he will engage a Lawyer to come up with a brief Constitution assuring all that the Movement will respect the rule of law so that no one in Malawi is being seen to be above the law saying they have information and they will not be working outside the constitution.
He said “Make Malawi great again” is not a political party and has no intention to contest in the 2030 general elections saying it is just a political platform with a strong foundation saying already, registration of its members has passed 3.7 million people.
The freedom fighter said Make Malawi Great Again Movement is a protected institution to be working hand in hand with the Amnesty International, it will be going to the courts for speedy judgement and pronouncements for people to learn the impartiality of courts.
He said the Movement will strive to make the 2030 general elections free and fair unlike the 16th September, 2025 elections where 70 cases of elections manipulations have been recorded with some candidates taking government maize as handouts to the electorate.
“70 Members of Parliament (MPs) are likely to lose their seats, the Movement will be working to make sure that MPs that will be elected to Parliament have the peoples’ blessings and not through rigging,” said Kalua.
On a special note, Kalua has announced the good news that the World Bank, International Monetary Fund (IMF) and other financial institutions have joined the Make Malawi Great Again Movement, saying he is just an interim Chairperson with recognition of Comrade Ntanyiwa, Comrade Bon Kalindo, Comrade Lytone Mangochi, Bakili Muluzi TV, and other players.
Kalua has finally sent a strong warning to corrupt political leaders and heads of institutions that Make Malawi great again will squeeze and get them wherever they are hiding saying Africa will come to learn from them calling for a spirit of transparency, accountability, integrity, justice and equity for all in one Malawi, one nation.
