Several senior members of the United Democratic Front (UDF), including Yusuf Mwawa, Ken Ndanga, Yawumi Mpaweni, and three others, have officially left the party to join the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).

The new members were welcomed during a DPP meeting led by Deputy Leader of the Country, Jane Ansah, held in Mangochi District.

Speaking on behalf of those leaving the UDF, Ken Ndanga said that the principles outlined by the DPP demonstrate the party’s commitment to the welfare of Malawians.

Ndanga emphasized that the DPP’s policies and programs reflect a genuine desire to improve the lives of citizens across the country.

He highlighted the expansion of schools and the allocation of K5 billion in Constituency Development Funds (CDF) as examples of initiatives that can transform the nation.

The former UDF members pledged their full support to the DPP’s agenda and promised to work toward implementing programs that benefit communities nationwide.

They encouraged other Malawians to embrace development-oriented policies and initiatives that prioritize education, infrastructure, and social welfare.

The DPP leadership expressed gratitude for the new members and reaffirmed its commitment to advancing national development and unity.

This political shift is expected to strengthen the DPP’s presence in Mangochi and other regions, further consolidating support ahead of future governance initiatives.
