Moyale Barracks FC revived their survival hopes with a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Ekhaya FC in a thrilling encounter played at Mzuzu Stadium.

The soldiers got off to a flying start, breaking the deadlock just four minutes into the match. Forward Lameck Mithi calmly converted from the penalty spot after an Ekhaya defender handled the ball in the box. Moyale continued to push forward, and their efforts paid off again in the 43rd minute when Amos Chipeta doubled the lead with a powerful strike that left the goalkeeper rooted.
Ekhaya FC came back stronger after the break and managed to pull one back through Samuel Rukura, who slotted home midway through the second half. Despite creating more chances, Ekhaya could not find the equalizer.
Speaking after the match, Moyale coach Plichard Mwansa expressed satisfaction with the result, saying the victory gives his team renewed confidence as they fight to avoid relegation.
“This win gives us the motivation we need for the remaining fixtures. The boys showed character,” Mwansa said.
However, Ekhaya coach Enos Chatama was left frustrated, questioning the officiating and blaming some decisions for disrupting his team’s rhythm.
“We are not happy with the way the match was officiated,” Chatama said. “Some decisions went against us.”
Ekhaya have so far collected only three points in the Northern Region, following their narrow 1–0 win over Karonga United on December 1, 2025
