Limpopo FM online radio station says it is not aware that the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) organized a meeting with human rights groups in Mangochi claiming that this can be true or not in there is no smoke without fire.
The Radios Nkhanga zaona programme producer Comrade Ntanyiwa, said he has received numerous phone calls, SMS and whatsApp messages from various rights groups and individuals enquiring about the meeting in Mangochi.
Comrade Ntanyiwa said upon receiving the messages, he enquired from Malawi Watch, Malawi Freedom Fighters, Malawi First, and other rights groups, but all seemed not to be aware that there was such a meeting.
The activist said he is the Founder and Executive Director of a registered organization in Malawi- The Four Regions, saying his organization was never invited to this meeting advising Malawians that they are living in a global network where others are good at cooking up stories with the aim of planting seeds of destruction, and disunity among various groups in a country.
“Government has got its way of communicating things, if indeed some human rights organizations and individual activists were contacted, everything will come to the open,” said Comrade Ntanyiwa.
Speaking through an audio clip, one of the activists who fought courageously for the liberation of the country from the MCP and President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera- Karonga Boys, said he heard that Minister of Gender Mary Thom Navicha organized a meeting with activists in Mangochi in a get together party appreciating their role played in the country’s change of leadership.
Karonga Boys said after contacting several individuals, he learnt that no genuine activist was invited to Mangochi party saying if those people dining with Minister Navicha are activists, then, this can best be explained by the party’s organizers.
He said he tried to call Navicha and other senior members of the DPP to find out who and who among the activists were invited to the Mangochi party, there was no response claiming that their phones were not reachable describing this as setting a bad picture among activists in Malawi.
The activist said Malawi Freedom Fighters is the mother body of all rights groups and activists in Malawi saying it is sad to learn that even its chairperson Professor Kinka was not aware of the meeting questioning the DPP that who are these activists they are working with?
Karonga Boys has assured the DPP that they worked tirelessly to see to it that Hon. Dr. Kondwani Nankhumwa not grabbing the DPP up to the court and Age Limit Bill to bar Professor Mutharika not to contest in the 16th September, 2025 presidential elections.
“You can eat today but don’t forget that there are others who need the same food you are eating today, you are throwing us with stones today, but tomorrow you will need us,” said Karonga Boys.
He has suspected that families from constituencies of some of the DPP officials were the ones invited to the Mangochi party representing activists in Malawi because no genuine activist was contacted for such a party.
Karonga Boys has finally assured the DPP beside them throwing stones at them and taking them as useless, they will continue working with President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika , they will not leave him alone in the journey he will be implementing his vision for Malawi for 5 years.
