Malawi Triathlon Tournament Boosts Sports Development in Nkhatabay

The District Education and Sports Officer for Nkhatabay District, Shadreck Chiundiza, has commended the Malawi Triathlon Union for organizing a tournament aimed at promoting triathlon in Malawi.

Chiundiza made the remarks during a day-long triathlon event held at Chikale Beach in Nkhatabay District, where athletes competed in swimming, athletics, and cycling.

He praised the union’s efforts, noting that tournaments like these help nurture talent and encourage the youth to actively participate in sports.

Draxon Maloya, General Secretary for the Malawi Triathlon Union Northern Region chapter, assured the athletes that the sport will continue to grow and that Malawi will be represented in international competitions, including the Olympics.

The overall winner of the tournament, Adam Banda, expressed gratitude to his coaches for believing in him and supporting his participation, acknowledging their role in helping him succeed in the competition.
